Javiera Mena was born in Chile, where she started her musical career. She began composing and playing back in 2001. She masters several instruments, from guitar to keyboards or grand piano, as well as synthesizers. She has composed acoustic, electronic, pop and folk songs.

Her debut solo album was released in 2006. In 2009 the Norwegian band Kings of Convenience invited her to be their opening act in their concerts held in Spain and Portugal, where she played an acoustic set of her first album.

In 2012 she was featured in the Chilean film Joven y Alocada with some of her music.

She also composed Agüita, the main theme for MTV’s soap Niñas Mal 2.

Her fourth studio album, Otra Era, came out in 2014, and featured the song Otra Era, which earned her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Song.

She gained the Silver and Golden Seagull Award at the 2016 Viña del Mar Festival (Chile).

She is in the midst of recording a new album that will, once more, make us dance non-stop. The first single will be out shortly.

Several festivals had Javiera in their last editions such like Primavera Sound, Coachella, Low Festival, Tomavistas or Future Beats Festival from H&M where she was the stelar performance.

She is one of the influencers selected to take part of the first book on “influencer marketing” in Spain (Soy Marca, by Luis Díaz)
