Julia de Castro was born in Ávila. She has a degree in Drama by the Royal School of Dramatic Arts of Madrid (RESAD), as well as another one in Art History and a Bachelor’s in Violin.

On her musical facet she has created, alongside Miguel Rodrigáñez, her personal musical project De La Purissima. Their album “Virgen” has brought them on tour to places like Tangier, Mexico, Pekin, Shanghai. Greece or Romania. Their second album, “Arizona”, was recorded in Tucson and was presented live at the mythical Zarzuela Theater of Madrid. Other projects in which she has participated, in these cases as a violinist: Loquillo’s “A Solas” tour, Marta Álvarez’s play La Música and the soundtrack of Eduard Cortés’ feature film The Pelayos (where she also sings).

As an actress Julia de Castro has been recently featured as the lead of Anatomía de una Criminal, by Javi Giner, as well as the TV series Mucha Mierda, directed by actor Rubén Ochandiano for Canal+. She also participated in the miniseries Marco (Félix Viscarret for antena3) and the film Der Geldkomplex (Juan Rodrigáñez), which was selected for the Berlinale. On stage we have seen her in Five Women eat Omelet (Chos), Las Rusas  (Darío Facal), Año Santo (Nuria Alcorta), Cervantes Imaginary (Sonia Sebastián) or the musical Antipasti (David Priego), opposite Bimba Bosé.
